Design Systems advocates like yourself have all the enthusiasm in the world, but if your organization isn’t yet on board, how do you channel that effectively and get started a the ground level? Who you actually need on your design system team at the beginning of the process, and what roles should they play? How can you get buy-in from your organization’s leadership and start into the exciting development work? Alex will lean on her experience of being the lonely only design system designer to team lead and product owner for the Atlassian Design System over the past 4 years, to help you formulate the right team, identify the stakeholders, and pitch them in a way that will create allies moving forward.

This workshop is aimed at designers, product managers and developers just starting out with getting a design system up and running in their organization, and focused on critical next steps to making your dream a reality. At the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with:

  • A clear sense of who to get involved (and who can be left out)
  • How to communicate why a design system will help solve a problem your organization might have
  • A pitch template you can use to get buy-in
